On Wednesday, July 17th, Senate Leader Mike McGuire and other local community leaders met in Rio Dell to Celebrate the Groundbreaking of Rio Dell’s new Water System Rebuild. During the earthquake of December 2022, Rio Dell experienced intense damage to their 75 year old water system, which was already hanging on by a thread. Days after the earthquake, Sen. McGuire helped secure a $12.9 million dollar investment by the State of California to rebuild Rio Dells water system, at no cost to local residents. Standing underneath a dated and leaking redwood water tank at the end of Douglas St in Rio Dell, Senator McGuire spoke on this great achievement.
