Caltrans made a landmark decision to address the chronic landslides plaguing the Last Chance Grade section of Highway 101 in Del Norte County. The agency has selected Alternative F, a $2.1 billion, 6,000-foot tunnel that aims to provide a permanent solution to the hazardous conditions and frequent closures that have long disrupted this vital coastal route.
