On Monday, August 19th, Leggett Valley Unified School District students returned to their classrooms, except for Whale Gulch School students who had to begin their school year on independent study due to insurance issues with their rural, off-grid, campus on the Lost Coast. However, the board, staff, and community have seemingly come together to ensure the future of the students that have made the privately owned campus their educational home. Lisa Music reports.
