KMUD News is excited to announce a new segment for our nightly newscast: a monthly check-in with Humboldt County Supervisors.
This segment will provide listeners with up-to-date information directly from their elected representatives, fostering transparency, accountability, and a stronger connection between local government and the community.
Tonight’s Monthly Check-In features Humboldt’s 4th District Supervisor, Natalie Arroyo, who represents the unincorporated areas of Eureka, Fairhaven, and Samoa. Arroyo is actively addressing a range of critical issues affecting her district, from advancing renewable energy and supporting economic development to tackling healthcare access and fiscal challenges.
In Monday’s interview, she provided updates on her work with key boards and commissions, discussed the county’s budgetary constraints, shared insights into her leadership on major projects in Eureka and surrounding areas, and outlined the potential formation of a sheriff's oversight committee.
