The 3rd annual Round Valley History Day took place on Saturday, May 4th at the Methodist Church in Covelo CA. Participants gathered to share oral histories, photographs, documents, portraiture and more. I spoke with founder Donna Vann Bushnell about the history of the event and its importance, as well as the Cassanello family, who traveled over 180 miles to the event to reconnect with their roots, and donate a 100+ year old local cookbook from their private collection to the Round Valley Public Library. The cookbook, titled "Round Valley Cook Book" was compiled by The Dorcas Aid Society of the Covelo Presbyterian Church and published in Covelo in 1921.
